Renovation and interiors in Lisbon: what we do

Lisbon is the city our atelier has worked from since 2002, and every project here is turnkey: we design, choose every piece, supply and build, and run the works through to handover.

Buildings of different eras

In Lisbon we have worked in a restored fifteenth-century mansion and in a fully renovated building on Avenida da Liberdade, among others, and each period of construction calls for a different approach. Access, logistics, suppliers, lead times and technical constraints weigh on every job in the city, and the works stay in our hands throughout.

How a Lisbon apartment’s proportions shape the living room: our guide

Suppliers, logistics and installation sit with us too. What a turnkey project includes.

In Lisbon we have handed over apartments to clients moving from the United States or living between the two countries. How we work with clients outside Portugal.

Our projects in Lisbon

In the words of a client in Picoas

“Renata Machado truly read my mind. She managed to turn an empty apartment into a home with soul, personality and exactly the atmosphere I had dreamed of creating. […] The end result exceeded my expectations.”

Questions about a project in Lisbon

Which Lisbon projects can I see?

Four Lisbon apartments have a published project page: Palácio Santiago, a 350 m² four-bedroom duplex; a 120 m² two-bedroom on Avenida da Liberdade; a 210 m² period apartment in Avenidas Novas; and a penthouse with a roof terrace at Praça de Espanha. Elsewhere in the city we have also delivered, among others, a three-bedroom apartment in Picoas with a full turnkey decoration, a turnkey three-bedroom in Parque das Nações and a 150 m² three-bedroom on Avenida 5 de Outubro.

Which award has your Lisbon work received?

The MUSE Design Award Gold, in 2021, for the Palácio Santiago apartment: a 350 m² four-bedroom duplex in a restored fifteenth-century mansion, with stone arches, lioz limestone floors and a view of the Tagus, where the brief was a modern, youthful, practical home, lifted by vivid colour. The atelier has also received the Lusophone Architecture and Interior Design Awards, Bronze and Silver.

Can I see the materials at your Lisbon atelier?

Yes. We prefer to present each project at our atelier at Campo Pequeno, with plans and elevations, moodboards and physical samples of the materials, so that every choice is made with them in front of you. We see clients by appointment, Monday to Friday, 10 am to 7 pm, and the full address sits next to the form above.

How much does a project in Lisbon cost?

Every project is priced on its own scope, floor area and finishes; our fees come in a detailed proposal, with no commitment, before any building work starts. How a project fee is worked out.
